Flooding in Izmir, Turkey, residents are being evacuated

As a result of the flooding caused by heavy rains, promenades, roads, and residential areas have been inundated.

According to local media reports, the flooding occurred in western and southwestern Turkey due to torrential rains.

The most severe consequences are observed in Izmir province, particularly in the coastal area of Foça. Due to intense precipitation, the sea level has risen significantly, leading to the flooding of promenades, streets, and residential neighborhoods.

Recent videos from the region show cars submerged in water, while rescue services are evacuating people from flooded areas. In Foça, water has inundated several coastal cafes and shops, with waves reaching the facades of buildings. According to local authorities, traffic is disrupted in some parts of the city, and public transport services have been temporarily suspended.

Meteorologists warn that the rains may continue, so residents are strongly advised to take precautions and avoid leaving their homes unless necessary.
