The Cabinet of Ministers has decided to extend the New Year holidays in 2026. The document signed by the Chairman of the Cabinet, Adylbek Kasymaliev, establishes new rules for employees of state and municipal structures, as well as organizations and enterprises funded from the state budget.
According to this resolution, employees of the specified institutions will be able to enjoy additional days off on January 8 and 9, 2026. Thus, work will resume on January 12, after the Saturday and Sunday that fall on January 10 and 11.
It is important to note that the document does not provide for the transfer of working days, and the additional days off are granted within the existing work schedule.
This decision is aimed at supporting the institution of family and creating conditions for parents to spend time with their children during the winter school holidays.
In addition, private company leaders are recommended to take this resolution into account in their practices.
The new measure comes into effect on January 1, 2026.
