The exemption will apply to pure electric vehicles and series hybrids
From January 22, 2026, an exemption from customs duties on the import of electric vehicles will come into effect in Kyrgyzstan. This information was announced by the State Customs Service.
According to the State Customs Service, the introduction of this exemption is related to a decision made by the Eurasian Economic Commission on December 5, 2025. The exemption will apply to fully electric vehicles as well as hybrid vehicles with a series drive scheme.
On the specified day, changes to the commodity nomenclature of foreign economic activity of the EAEU concerning the classification of vehicles will come into effect.
