New tax benefits for the football industry
Starting in 2026, tax concessions will come into effect for football organizations in Kyrgyzstan. This was reported in materials published by "Economist KG" following the relevant amendments to the country's Tax Code made by the government.
These changes affect the "Kyrgyz Football Union" (KFU), its members, professional football clubs, academies, as well as owners of licensed stadiums.
The main provisions of the tax benefits are as follows:
- Complete exemption from income tax and sales tax is granted to organizations engaged in football, concerning their activities related to the organization and development of football events;
- Imported goods necessary for the organization and development of football activities (such as sports equipment, uniforms, and specialized materials) will be exempt from VAT;
- Property tax will not be levied on buildings and structures owned by the aforementioned organizations and used exclusively for the development of football;
- Tax benefits are provided for employees of football organizations: their income (salaries, bonuses, and compensations) received within the framework of employment relationships is exempt from income tax. Additionally, reduced social insurance rates are established for such employees: insurance contributions amount to 12% of the average monthly salary.
