GNS: citizens need to check property data due to the introduction of automatic tax assessment

Changes in the Tax Code now allow tax authorities to independently determine the amount of property tax, which will significantly simplify the procedure for citizens and reduce the administrative burden on taxpayers.

In order for tax obligations for 2026 to be formed correctly, the GNS strongly recommends that both individuals and legal entities verify their data against the information stored in the State Agency for Land Resources, Cadastre, Geodesy, and Cartography (State Enterprise "Cadastre").

It is necessary to ensure the accuracy of the following information:

• Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN);

• Full name of the owner or name of the legal entity;

• Area of real estate and land plots;

• Purpose of the properties;

• Ownership share;

• Registration dates and other parameters specified in the title documents.

Checking the data will help avoid discrepancies and ensure correct automatic assessment of property tax.
