The State Tax Service informs that changes have been made to the Tax Code of the Kyrgyz Republic regarding property taxation.

According to the service, the changes are related to the implementation of an automated property tax assessment system. As a result, the calculation procedure, tax rates have been revised, and the requirement to submit informational calculations for property tax for land in populated areas, as well as for non-agricultural land, non-residential buildings, premises, and structures has been abolished.

Furthermore, several new concepts have appeared in tax legislation, such as residential and non-residential property. This has allowed for a reduction in the types of property tax to three:

tax on residential property — includes tax assessments for two categories: residential buildings and premises, as well as for adjacent, household, or garden plots;

tax on non-residential property — covers the taxation of non-residential buildings, premises, structures, and land plots related to populated areas and non-agricultural purposes;

tax on land plots used for agricultural purposes.

In addition to the above, according to the latest changes in tax legislation, retirees now have the right to benefits on the tax for adjacent, household, and garden plots.
