In connection with the New Year celebrations, the Border Service of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan has announced the temporary closure of two vehicle checkpoints on the Kyrgyz-Chinese border.
It has been reported that on January 1, 2026, the "Torugart-automobile" and "Irkeshtam-automobile" checkpoints will cease operations.
The resumption of the passage of citizens, vehicles, and cargo is planned according to the following schedule:
- The "Irkeshtam-automobile" checkpoint will open on January 1, 2026, at 22:00;
- The "Torugart-automobile" checkpoint will begin operations on January 2, 2026, at 08:00.
