According to the press service of the Traffic Safety Department, the truck drivers, waiting their turn at the border, noticed that a truck was moving behind a passenger car, trying to bypass the queue. The drivers stopped both vehicles and demanded explanations. It later turned out that the inspector was behind the wheel of the passenger car, which raised suspicions about his intention to help the truck bypass the line.
However, the Traffic Safety Department denied these rumors, stating that the inspector was on duty, and the truck driver had unilaterally attempted to bypass the queue by following him.
After this incident, the inspector drew up an administrative protocol under Article 188, Part 5 ("Violation of overtaking or maneuvering rules by entering the oncoming lane") of the Code of Violations. A fine of 15,000 soms was imposed on the truck driver.
The Traffic Safety Department emphasized that such situations create tension among road users and called for strict adherence to the order of crossing checkpoints.
