The incident occurred on October 31 at around 21:50 on Sargashkaev Street in the village of Birichni-May (1-May) in the At-Bashinsky district. The driver of an unidentified vehicle struck a local resident, born in 1972, known as A.M., and left the scene.
Unfortunately, as a result of the impact, the moped driver sustained serious injuries and died at the scene.
In response to the incident, operational search activities were organized to identify the driver and detain him. Employees of the Traffic Safety Department and the Internal Affairs Department of the At-Bashinsky district were able to detain a 41-year-old resident of the village of Taldy-Suu, T.R., who was driving a "Mercedes-Benz Sprinter" shortly after the incident.
The vehicle was placed in a towing lot, and the detained driver was handed over to investigative authorities for further proceedings.
Currently, investigative actions regarding the traffic accident are ongoing at the At-Bashinsky District Department of Internal Affairs.
