A memorial plaque for István Mandoki Kongur was unveiled in Bishkek



In Bishkek, at the school-lyceum of innovative technologies named after Professor A. Moldokulov, a ceremony was held to unveil a memorial plaque for the Hungarian scientist István Mandoki Kongur. This was reported by the Ministry of Education of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Among those present at the event were Deputy Minister of Education Albert Makhmetkulov and the Ambassador of Hungary to Kyrgyzstan Sándor Dorogi.

Speaking at the ceremony, Makhmetkulov emphasized that this event symbolizes the strengthening of cultural and historical ties between the two nations. He also noted that István Mandoki Kongur dedicated his life to researching the common roots of Turkic peoples and reminded that in 1989, it was at this educational institution that the scientist worked on translating the epic "Manas" into Hungarian.
