The Bishkek Drama Theater named after Arsen Umuraliev will participate in the VIII International Theater Festival "Samsun," which will take place in Turkey from March 23 to 31, 2026, as reported by the city administration.

This event, timed to coincide with the International Day of Theater, will gather theater troupes—both professional and amateur—from various corners of the world.

As part of the festival, on March 27, the theater will present the season's premiere—a tragicomic parable "Takteke," based on the work of the national poet of Kyrgyzstan, Kiyalbek Urmanbetov.

This production explores the philosophical aspects of human existence, addressing the issue of losing harmony with nature and internal contradictions. The performance harmoniously combines elements of ancient epic and modern artistic techniques, giving it a profound meaning, seasoned with lively humor.

It is worth noting that "Takteke" has already gained recognition from audiences in Bishkek and will now be presented on the international stage of the festival.
