On November 26, Rospotrebnadzor transferred two new mobile anti-epidemic laboratories to the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan, which were developed based on a GAZ vehicle and a portable pneumatic frame module.

According to Anna Popova, head of Rospotrebnadzor, cooperation between Russia and Kyrgyzstan in the fight against infections contributes to maintaining a stable epidemiological situation both in Kyrgyzstan and in the Eurasian region as a whole.

“Currently, Rospotrebnadzor is implementing five projects in Kyrgyzstan to combat infections, which has allowed for the elimination of plague cases among the population and reduced the number of hepatitis B cases by three times over the past three years. More than 500 specialists from Kyrgyzstan have undergone training in epidemiology and laboratory diagnostics,” she added.

Thus, there are now seven mobile laboratories from Rospotrebnadzor operating in Kyrgyzstan.

The laboratory based on the GAZ vehicle is capable of conducting up to 1,800 tests daily for 30 different infections, including particularly dangerous ones. Thanks to the use of express diagnostic methods, results can be obtained in less than half an hour.

The portable laboratory can be delivered to any point in the country within a day, even to areas lacking the necessary infrastructure, Rospotrebnadzor noted.

According to the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, the field mobile complex on a vehicle chassis can travel to remote areas where road infrastructure is available, while the pneumatic frame laboratory can be set up in just a few hours and provides a full level of biological protection for working with hazardous pathogens.

Kyrgyzstan's Minister of Health Erkin Checheybaev emphasized that Russia is a key partner for Kyrgyzstan in matters of biological safety.

“With the help of the transferred mobile laboratories and joint projects, we effectively monitor natural plague foci, ensure sanitary and epidemiological stability, and enhance national capabilities to respond to threats,” he noted.

The cooperation also includes efforts to combat the spread of HIV infection: 10 mobile clinics previously transferred by Russia have examined over 103,000 people. An important success has been the joint program to reduce hepatitis B morbidity, within which over 700,000 doses of the Russian vaccine were supplied, leading to a threefold reduction in the number of cases.

The transferred laboratories were manufactured in Russia, fully equipped with the necessary materials, and provided with warranty service. The Russian side confirmed its readiness to provide technical support if necessary.
