According to the security services, this became possible during the investigation of a criminal case regarding corruption, as provided for in part 1 of article 336 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. The plot was sold off in parts to private individuals, which was the result of actions by certain officials.
The history of this plot dates back to 1997, when the Bishkek city administration adopted resolution No. 107, according to which the northern part of the Karagach Grove was transferred to the Institute of Forestry and Nut Growing of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic for scientific research. However, the institute did not register the land with the state authorities, which allowed certain officials to sell off the plot.
After completing all necessary registration procedures, the land was returned to state ownership.
The SCNS emphasizes that work on the return of assets that were illegally taken continues. Investigative actions are being carried out within the framework of the current case aimed at returning other objects of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic that were also privatized in violation of the law.
