
A citizen suspected of cruel treatment towards his mother was detained in the Chui region. The information was provided by the Main Internal Affairs Department of the Chui region.
On January 3, 2026, a woman named Sh.L., born in 1958, approached the Sokuluk District Internal Affairs Department. She reported ongoing violence from her son, born in 1978, citizen Sh.A., who, according to her, exhibited physical and psychological aggression while under the influence of alcohol.
The case was registered, and a forensic medical examination was appointed to assess the severity of the bodily injuries sustained by the victim. Experts determined that Sh.L. suffered minor harm to her health, causing a temporary disturbance.
Based on the collected materials, a criminal case was initiated under Article 138 (torture) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. In accordance with Article 96 of the Criminal Procedure Code, the son, Sh.A., was detained and placed in a temporary detention facility.
Currently, investigative actions are ongoing, aimed at a thorough and impartial investigation of this criminal case.
The Main Internal Affairs Department of the Chui region emphasizes that any acts of domestic violence are under strict control and must be legally assessed. Such actions are subject to liability in accordance with the country's legislation.
