Frosts down to -48 degrees. Schools closed in Naryn and Suusamyr regions

Preschools continue to operate

According to information from local authorities, due to severe frosts, classes have been suspended in schools in the Naryn and Jayil districts.

In Suusamyr, located in the Chuy region, nighttime temperatures drop to -48 degrees, while daytime temperatures fluctuate between -33 and -35 degrees. As a result, four educational institutions in the rural area have switched to remote learning.

The head of the region, Azizbek Manapov, reported that "due to the extremely low temperature, schools in the villages of Tunak, Suusamyr, Pervomay, and Kozhomkul will operate in a remote format for one week."

Deputy Akim of the Naryn district administration, Elvira Janbolotova, added that the cold weather is expected to last until January 19. Consequently, all 32 schools in the Naryn district have also transitioned to remote learning. However, preschools continue their operations.
