According to the police department, it is in public transport and markets that cases of pickpocketing most frequently occur.
The police recommend the following precautions to Bishkek residents:
• keep bags and backpacks in sight;
• do not display valuable items in public;
• exercise particular caution during peak hours;
• if any suspicions arise, contact the police immediately.
The department noted that safety in the city depends not only on their efforts but also on the attentiveness of each resident.
