More than 30 pawnshops were closed due to violations
In the Osh region, including the city of Osh, an inspection of pawnshops was conducted. This was reported by the press service of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB).
The inspection was a result of an order given by the chairman of the GKNB, Kamchybek Tashiev.
Employees of the GKNB, as well as representatives of the Financial Supervision and the State Tax Service (GNS), participated in the raids.
During the inspection, cases of exceeding the limits of interest rates established by the country's legislation were identified, for which administrative fines were imposed.
More than 30 pawnshops were also sealed, and further inspections were scheduled to obtain a legal assessment of the situation.
The GKNB noted that operational search activities are currently ongoing to identify individuals engaged in usury. These individuals provide loans to the population under unbearable conditions and appropriate pledged property, thereby generating significant income.
