The inspections were initiated by the Chairman of the GKNB, Kamchybek Tashiev, with the involvement of the Southern Territorial Administration of the Financial Supervision Service and the State Tax Service.

During the raids, violations related to systematic inflation of interest rates exceeding the legally established norms were identified. In response to these facts, the authorized bodies applied administrative measures.
Additionally, more than 30 pawnshops were sealed, and more thorough inspections are being conducted regarding them, the results of which will serve as the basis for further legal actions.
The GKNB is also conducting operational-search activities to identify individuals engaged in usury and issuing loans under unacceptable conditions. According to the intelligence service, such individuals illegally appropriate pledged property and generate significant income.
Investigations are ongoing.
It is worth noting that earlier, Chairman Kamchybek Tashiev raised the issue of the necessity to inspect all pawnshops in the country.
Recently, a major usurer and owner of a network of pawnshops was detained in Bishkek, who, according to GKNB data, was engaged in illegal activities aimed at profiting from citizens in difficult financial situations. He provided money under onerous conditions with excessively high interest rates, which put the victims in dependency and deprived them of the ability to fulfill their obligations.
