Deputy Burun Amanova raised the issue of gasification of new buildings in Bishkek that use coal heating.

At the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, she noted that the company "Gazprom Kyrgyzstan" had previously committed to gasifying these areas, but the work has still not been completed.

“There are over 100 new buildings in the capital, and most of them still use coal heating. Gas has only been supplied to 54 residential areas. I have already asked the representative of the Ministry of Energy, but he could not provide a clear answer. 'Gazprom Kyrgyzstan' committed to gasifying these areas, but why is there still no gas? Why should residents suffer from smog? This issue has been raised by many of my colleagues. The problem of smog is acute in Bishkek, Osh, and other cities,” the deputy stated.

Chairman Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu added that the situation with smog is gradually improving. He emphasized that this winter season, Bishkek has several times fallen into the category of "green cities" based on daily indicators.

“For the first time this winter, the city has been in the category of 'green cities' several times, which indicates that the level of smog has significantly decreased. The city authorities have carried out extensive work to identify the causes and mitigate the effects of smog. The mayor's office is using various methods to improve air quality, and they should be thanked for this, as we must appreciate positive changes. Of course, the problem is not completely solved, but there is less smog now,” noted the chairman.
