At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, this was reported by the Deputy Minister of Energy
Deputy Minister of Energy Altynbek Rysbekov stated at the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh that residents of Kyrgyzstan can install solar panels on their homes and sell the excess electricity to the government at a rate of 4 som 42 tyiyn per kilowatt-hour.
He noted that a pilot project is being implemented in the Chui region, within which solar panels were installed completely free of charge for ten low-income families, and they can now sell the remaining electricity.
Furthermore, Rysbekov added that NESK purchases electricity from investors who have created renewable energy sources at the same price and then sells it to the population at lower rates. This has resulted in a budget deficit for NESK of 10 billion soms in 2024, 2 billion in 2025, and the company plans to break even in 2026.
