Raids aimed at controlling prices for meat products and other socially significant goods are taking place in Bishkek. This was reported by the city administration.
In particular, on February 15, 2026, another round of inspections took place, involving city administration employees, representatives from four district administrations, the antimonopoly service, city veterinarians, tax inspectors, and law enforcement agencies.
During the raids, special attention was paid to combating unjustified price increases for meat, as well as checking for documents confirming the quality and origin of goods, and compliance with sanitary standards in trade.
As part of these activities, explanatory talks were held with trading points about the necessity to strictly adhere to the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic and the established price limits. The goal of such raids is to stabilize prices for socially significant food products and protect consumer rights.
The Bishkek city administration emphasized that in case of violations related to the sale of meat at inflated prices, responsible parties will face penalties in accordance with the law. Monitoring and control of the situation with food prices in the capital continues to prevent unauthorized price increases.
