In the Kemin district, in the Boom Gorge, there is a mountain known as "Mother-in-law's Tongue."

According to local resident Taalay Asanov, this name originated from Russian settlers who first settled in these areas.

Villager Karachach Osmonova noted that there are no legends or myths about the origin of the mountain's name.

“I asked the local elders about the meaning of the name. They confirmed that there are no mythical stories. This name appeared with the arrival of the Russians. They thought the shape on the slope of the hill resembled a tongue, and that's why it was named so. In fact, this interests many,” shared the local resident.
