Almost half of high school graduates do not pass the National Testing, which indicates a need for improved student preparation. This was stated by deputy Santalat Amanova at a meeting of the Science Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh.

According to her, previously only about 40% of students successfully passed the test, but now this figure has reached 50%. Nevertheless, this is not enough. "In Bishkek or Osh, if out of 1000 graduates half do not pass the test, it means that 500 of them may end up in the labor market outside the country," Amanova noted.

She emphasized that the state allocates significant funds for test preparation. "Teachers and methodologists are making efforts to provide students with quality knowledge and prepare them for the test. Conditions have improved in the regions, but work must continue," she added.

Amanova also touched on the topic of the competition for the position of school directors, which lasts for 5 years. In her opinion, the question arises: why do we need to wait 5 years to dismiss an ineffective leader?

"Should rotation really only happen once every five years? If a director is not fulfilling their duties, cannot improve the qualifications of the teaching staff, and enhance the educational process, then there is no point in keeping them in position. This is why in some regions up to 50% of graduates do not pass the National Testing," she stated.

The deputy emphasized that the preparation of students and work with teachers should become a joint responsibility of the Ministry of Science and the Ministry of Education.
