Students of 2nd and 4th grades received a UNESCO award for environmental projects

Two elementary school students from the "Diplomat" school in the city of Balakchy became laureates of the UNESCO international award — CIPP 2025 (Youth Innovation: Collaborating to Improve and Protect Our Planet), as reported by the parents of one of the winners.

More than 30,000 participants from 40 countries took part in this competition. Kyrgyzstan was represented by Nuraly Tursunbekov (a 4th-grade student) and Auki Sabyrbekova (a 2nd-grade student). The final results were announced on February 1, 2026, during an international online ceremony.

Tursunbekov was awarded the Top Award for his project, while Sabyrbekova received the Award for Pioneering Sustainability for her innovative approach to biodiversity conservation.
