The Ministry of Energy reported on the progress of the construction of the Papan hydroelectric power station.

In the Kara-Suu district of the Osh region, the construction of the "Papan" small hydropower plant with a capacity of 27 MW is actively continuing, as reported by the press service of the Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan.

Currently, the process of land allocation and transformation is also underway to create a production hub that will include the hydropower plant building and an open switchgear with a voltage of 110 kV. Issues regarding the allocation of land for the installation of supports for the overhead power line VL-110 kV from the Papan HPP towards the VL-110 kV "Uzlovaya - Besh-Moynok" are being resolved.

In addition, the development of project and estimate documentation is ongoing, a preliminary construction plan has been established, access to the Papan reservoir area has been granted, and engineering surveys are continuing, as stated in the report.

The capsule-laying ceremony for the Papan HPP took place on October 5, 2024.
