In the Jalal-Abad region, the process of licensing taxi drivers continues and will not be suspended.

This information was provided by police major Nurlan Sarkarov, an inspector in the traffic safety department of the regional police.

According to him, at the moment, 581 drivers have already received licenses. At the same time, applications from dozens of other drivers are being considered, and their documents are being prepared for issuance. Given the large number of citizen inquiries, the deadline for submitting applications has been extended; however, the licensing process continues as usual," he noted.

On January 29 of this year, the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced the extension of the license issuance period for taxis until July 1, 2026. This decision was made taking into account the opinions and requests of citizens.

It is worth noting that as of August 22, 2025, a law came into effect requiring taxi drivers to obtain licenses and prohibiting the transportation of passengers in vehicles with right-hand drive. Licensing began on September 12 of last year, and the application deadline was later extended to February 1.

The cost of obtaining a license is 500 soms for individuals and 1000 soms for legal entities.
