Minister of Construction Nurdana Oruntaev confirmed the existence of a problem related to the fact that a large portion of the necessary materials comes from abroad. "Russia was the main supplier of metal, which is the most expensive building material, as well as a supplier of conductors. We allowed the import of building materials from China. In 2025, the price of rolled metal fluctuated between 56-58 soms per kilogram, while in previous years there was an increase in prices. There were instances when Russian suppliers manipulated prices, but such problems did not arise last year. Throughout the year, we monitored their prices. We have active cement producers both in the south and in the north of the country. In order to keep prices stable, the government has taken a number of measures, including purchasing cement from local producers and suppliers," he noted.
