At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Dastan Bekeshev proposed the use of industrial cannabis for the production of clothing and accessories, such as bags.
He pointed out that sewing factories in Kyrgyzstan are already known in Russia.
“It would be more reasonable to use our local fabrics instead of importing them from China and Turkey. In the United States, for example, you can buy clothing and bags made from cannabis,” he added.
The Deputy Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry noted that implementing this proposal would require cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and amendments to the legislation.
“It is also necessary to conduct tests on industrial cannabis, after which we will send the results to the Academy of Sciences. Fabrics made from this material can also be used for military purposes,” he emphasized.
