In Uzgen, a 1 month and 22 days old infant was hospitalized in the territorial hospital, and unfortunately, he did not survive.

According to preliminary information, before being admitted to the medical facility, the child underwent a hijama procedure on his back.

According to information from the Uzgen territorial hospital, the infant was brought in on January 20 after 10:00 PM with a diagnosis of "post-hemorrhagic anemia."

The baby was born on November 11, 2025, in the village of Ak-Zhar, located in the rural district of Kara-Shoro in the Uzgen region. According to doctors, his hemoglobin level dropped to 43, indicating a serious loss of blood. "The skin on the baby's back was damaged. The parents initially did not admit this and claimed that the baby had stopped breastfeeding and had become pale. However, during the examination, doctors found wounds, after which the parents confessed to the procedure performed," the hospital specialists reported.

The doctors determined the infant's blood type and prepared donor blood. Around 1:00 AM, the blood transfusion began, and the medical staff did everything possible to provide intensive care.

However, despite the efforts of the medical personnel, the infant passed away on the morning of January 21 from post-hemorrhagic anemia and hemorrhagic shock.

Hijama is a method of traditional bloodletting, during which special vacuum cups are applied to the skin, followed by small incisions to allow blood to flow out. The procedure is usually performed in the lower back, neck, and shoulder areas. In official medicine, hijama is not considered an effective treatment method.
