Marlen Mamataliev nominated for the position of speaker in the Jogorku Kenesh

Deputy Marlen Mamataliev has been proposed for the position of speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh. This became known during the parliament session on February 12.

His candidacy was supported by the parliamentary groups "Eldik" and "Ala-Too".

As previously reported by the media, Marlen Mamataliev, elected from the No. 23 electoral district of Bishkek in 2025, could be appointed as the speaker of parliament.

Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu, who held the position of speaker, resigned today.
