Sadyr Japarov and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev Discussed Constitutional Reforms in Kazakhstan Over the Phone

Today, February 17, a telephone conversation took place between the presidents of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan — Sadyr Japarov and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. This information was published by the press service of the President's Administration of Kyrgyzstan.

During the conversation, the leaders discussed important issues related to Kyrgyz-Kazakh relations, including the implementation of previously reached agreements in the areas of trade, transportation, industrial cooperation, energy, and water resources.

Tokayev spoke about the constitutional reform taking place in Kazakhstan, aimed at creating a stable foundation for progress in the country. In response, Japarov expressed support for these significant changes, including the establishment of a unicameral parliament, and wished success in holding a nationwide referendum.

Both presidents emphasized the importance of resolving all issues based on trust and good neighborliness, which creates conditions for further development of mutually beneficial cooperation. They also exchanged views on domestic political reforms and discussed regional and international agenda issues, as well as planned joint activities in a multilateral format.
