According to the new management system for law enforcement agencies, as stated by Sadyr Japarov in an interview with IA "Kabar," the General and Military Prosecutor's Offices will focus exclusively on overseeing compliance with the law.
According to the president, "The General and Military Prosecutor's Offices will monitor the legality of the actions of all state bodies. The Ministry of Internal Affairs will remain responsible for carrying out its direct tasks. Investigative powers will be entirely under their jurisdiction. It is important that we develop a clear list of powers that will be enshrined at the legislative level," he noted.
Japarov also added that such a division of functions is necessary to ensure justice: "Regarding economic crimes, if a person is truly caught committing a crime – they will face punishment, and if a situation of defamation arises – they will be acquitted. The presence of two independent bodies allows for more objective and correct decisions."
