The ranks were awarded by presidential decree
President Sadyr Japarov approved decrees under which the highest military and special ranks were awarded to several leaders of the country's law enforcement and security structures. This information was announced by the presidential administration.
Interior Minister Ulan Niyazbekov was awarded the highest special rank of police colonel-general.
Chairman of the GKNB Jumgalbek Shabdanbekov was also awarded the high military rank of lieutenant-general.
The ranks of major-general were conferred to the following officials:
- Akylbek Namazov, Deputy Chairman of the GKNB,
- Alisher Erbaev, Deputy Chairman of the GKNB and Director of the Antiterrorism Center,
- Tariel Otonbaev, First Deputy Minister of Defense and Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic,
- Talaybek Sharshiev, First Deputy Minister of Defense,
- Talantbek Talipov, Commander of the Air Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic,
- Uranbek Shadybekov, Deputy Chairman of the GKNB and Director of the Coordination Center for Cybersecurity.
The First Deputy Prosecutor General of the Kyrgyz Republic Malik Bekturganov was awarded the special rank of major-general of justice.
