Matkalikov noted that the proposal to take the position of mayor came as a surprise to him. "I have lived in Manas for 15 years. When I was told, 'Go and work for the good of your city,' I was surprised. I will try to justify the trust of our president and will make every effort to develop the state. We will be able to focus on tourism and agriculture. If we develop tourism, the Emirates [UAE] will be left behind," he said.
Additionally, the mayor shared his work experience in response to questions from the media representatives.
Discussing personnel changes, the mayor pointed out the importance of professionalism among employees. "For me, the main thing is that a person knows their job. If someone has held their position for too long and the system requires renewal, we will consider options," he added.
