Polish border guards discovered a tunnel that migrants used to cross from Belarus to Poland in mid-December 2025. This tunnel, located in the eastern part of the country, became one of four similar structures identified in Poland, all of which were built in 2025, the publication reports.
According to data from the Polish border service, it has been recorded that 180 illegal migrants, most of whom are citizens of Afghanistan and Pakistan, used this tunnel. The height of the tunnel is 1.5 meters, and its walls are reinforced with concrete supports. The tunnel runs about 50 meters on Belarusian territory and approximately 10 meters on the Polish side, with the entrance on the Belarusian side camouflaged by trees.
Military experts who reviewed the video of the tunnel report that it is impossible to determine exactly who might have been involved in its construction. They suggest that groups with the skills necessary to create such structures could include organizations like HAMAS from the Gaza Strip, the Shiite movement Hezbollah from Lebanon, some Kurdish groups, and possibly the terrorist organization ISIS.
Poland's Deputy Minister of the Interior Czesław Mroczek noted: "The emergence of such tunnels indicates that we are actively combating illegal migration, and that specialists from the Middle East are being involved in this effort."
