President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov announced the start of construction of the "Kambar-Ata-1" Hydroelectric Power Station, which will become the largest energy project in the country's history. During a republican meeting, he noted that the capacity of the new HPP will be 1,860 megawatts.

“With the implementation of this project, Kyrgyzstan will not only fully meet its energy needs but will also become an exporter of electricity, which will help enhance the energy resilience of the region,” Japarov emphasized.

He also added that the realization of this project will strengthen the country's energy security and will be an important step towards economic development and stability in the region.

It is worth noting that at the republican meeting held in "Yntymak Ordo," the president summarized the results of the year 2025.

The event was attended by members of the government, heads of state institutions, presidential representatives in the regions, mayors of Bishkek and Osh, as well as district akims.
