During the meeting, participants discussed the need to strengthen control over teenagers who may be in public places without adult supervision, especially during the evening and night hours. The topic of preventive work with children and their parents was also raised, as well as the responsibility of catering establishments where minors may be present and ask for money.
Furthermore, emphasis was placed on checking various establishments, and in case of violations, measures will be taken in accordance with the law. The deputy mayor noted that recently there have been increasing cases of children participating in Jaramazan while being in dangerous places, such as roadways and intersections, which poses a threat to their safety. There have also been recorded instances of minors persistently asking for money transfers via QR codes. “We respect our traditions; however, Jaramazan should not turn into begging, and the safety of children is our priority. Parents must take this seriously and keep an eye on their children,” she emphasized.
As a result of the meeting, a decision was made to conduct joint raids involving juvenile affairs inspections and patrol services.
The Bishkek City Hall strongly urges parents to pay attention to the whereabouts of their children during the evening and night hours, emphasizing that the activities being carried out are aimed at protecting the rights, health, and safety of minors.
