In the courtroom of the city of Manas, a man was detained for failing to fulfill his alimony obligations, and he was sentenced to 2 years in prison.

Senior bailiff Ulukbek Tashbolotov commented on this decision.

He noted that those who are obligated to pay alimony should take their responsibilities seriously and settle their debts on time.

“According to the decision of the Manas City Court issued on April 8, 2022, an enforcement order was issued for the collection of alimony from the debtor T.Sh.A., 39 years old, in favor of K.Sh.A., which should amount to half of his income, starting from April 18, 2018,” Tashbolotov said.

During the enforcement of the court's decision, it was revealed that the debtor had not paid alimony until March 2025, resulting in a debt of 700,000 soms. In response, the bailiffs initiated a criminal case under Article 178 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic for failure to fulfill parental duties.

On November 27, 2025, the Manas City Court made a ruling regarding T.Sh.A., assigning him probation supervision for 1 year.

However, on February 26 of this year, the criminal panel of the Jalal-Abad Regional Court reviewed this decision, tightening the preventive measure and sending the accused into custody for 2 years right in the courtroom,” U. Tashbolotov added.
