The Committee on Industrial Policy, Transport, Fuel and Energy Complex, Architecture, and Construction reviewed the draft law "On Amendments to the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic on Electricity" at its meeting and approved it in the second reading.
The initiator of this draft law was the Cabinet of Ministers. The main goal of the amendments is to create conditions that promote the development of renewable energy sources (RES) and attract investments. This will be achieved by raising the power threshold for RES facilities from 30 to 50 MW, which will allow for the implementation of more efficient and sustainable projects that meet international standards and the strategic goals of the country in the field of green economy and energy security.
