In parliament, he is a member of the deputy group "El ümitü Ata-Jurt" and heads the committee on industrial policy, transport, fuel and energy complex, architecture, and construction.

Previously, he also held the position of a deputy in the Bishkek City Council. Kongantiev is the son of former Attorney General Kambarly Kongantiev and the nephew of ex-Minister of Internal Affairs Moldomus Kongantiev.

Recently, a video was published on social media discussing his assets and connections. The author claims that people close to the Kongantievs have many companies and businesses. There is also information that he is connected with the influential figure Taimuras Tashiev.

At the moment, Kongantiev has not commented on these rumors.
