On March 10, the panel of judges of the Bishkek City Court decided to overturn the verdict issued by the October District Court on November 6, 2025, in the case of Maksat Nusuvaliyev, the former mayor of Tokmok, as well as other defendants. The case was returned to the court of first instance for a new hearing.

According to information provided by the Bishkek City Court, the measure of restraint for Nusuvaliyev and the other defendants was changed from detention to house arrest at their place of residence.

It is worth reminding that on June 24, 2025, Kamchybek Tashiev, who was then the head of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB), held a meeting in Tokmok with the leadership of the Chui region. The result of this meeting was the dismissal of Nusuvaliyev and the initiation of a criminal case for causing significant damage to the state. It was reported that the case involved the improvement of a park and the renovation of a sports school in the city, with the total cost of state procurements amounting to over 61 million soms (including 16.4 million for the school and 44.283 million for the park).

As a result, Nusuvaliyev and his subordinates were sentenced to 12 and 13 years of imprisonment for corruption-related crimes.
