A New Constitution Adopted in Kazakhstan

A referendum on the new Constitution took place in Kazakhstan, as reported by the Kazinform agency.

The voter turnout was 73.12%, meaning that 9,127,192 citizens of the country participated in the voting.

According to preliminary results, 7,954,667 people, which corresponds to 87.15% of the total number of voters, supported the changes to the Constitution.

At the same time, 898,099 citizens voted against, and 146,558 ballots were deemed invalid.
