Colleagues in parliament are tired of Erulan Kokulov's personal disputes

On March 18, during a session of the Jogorku Kenesh, passions flared up again thanks to deputy Erulan Kokulov, who, being a former journalist, did not spare his former colleagues. He once again launched a critique against them, accusing them of forming an information mafia. In his opinion, there is no longer any room for objectivity in the modern media landscape, and materials about him are deliberately edited to portray him in an unfavorable light. Kokulov also claims that positive publications appear solely due to funding.

Kokulov's criticism was triggered by his recent actions, such as checking pharmacies and disputes with the patrol police regarding a 300 som fine for parking violations. He believes that facts are distorted by journalists. For example, his appeal to the president was presented as a complaint, and he even classified the inspectors of the patrol police as part of the journalistic mafia. Kokulov did not hold back in his expressions, stating his readiness to talk about corrupt officials with whom, according to him, the media collaborates.

However, Kokulov's expectations regarding the reaction of his colleagues were dashed. His parliamentary colleagues seem to be tired of the constant personal conflicts of the deputy-blogger. Deputy Akylbek Tumonbaev expressed dissatisfaction, noting that the residents of the Ton and Jeti-Oguz districts expect Kokulov to address real issues, such as water supply and education, rather than reports of disagreements with the police. Deputy Elvira Surabaldiyeva joined his remarks, reminding that the podium of the Jogorku Kenesh is not intended for discussing personal grievances, for which social networks and podcasts exist.

Previously, the president also urged deputies to avoid disgrace and not to raise petty domestic issues at a high level. As a result, the patience of the parliamentary leadership has run out. Speaker Marlen Mamataliyev announced the introduction of strict regulations: now topics for speeches will be pre-approved by faction leaders. It seems that the opportunity for Kokulov to use the podium for personal needs will soon be closed, as his endless complaints are beginning to wear out even the most patient colleagues.
