In the presidential lyceum "Akyilman," an innovative educational model is being implemented, which includes STEAM methodologies, modern IT technologies, as well as humanitarian and specialized fields. The Deputy Director for Scientific Work, Almazbek uulu Omurbek, shared this information at a press conference at the "Kabar" agency.
“The STEAM methodology helps students develop critical and creative thinking, which is a key feature of this system. The educational process is conducted in two languages: exact sciences are studied in English, while humanitarian disciplines are taught in Kyrgyz. New students receive assistance in improving their English language proficiency, after which the instruction is fully transitioned to English,” he noted. He also added that the lyceum actively develops kayaking, which is represented only in this school.
Currently, there are 264 students enrolled in the educational institution, with 24 students in each class. The lyceum also offers 26 clubs aimed at the comprehensive development of students.
“We pay special attention to the assessment system: both formative and summative assessments are used. In addition, a CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) system has been implemented, which allows for an objective evaluation of academic performance considering the study load,” Almazbek uulu Omurbek added.
