Witnesses of the incident emphasized that at the time of the accident, the section of the road was inadequately lit, which, in their opinion, requires the attention of local authorities to improve street lighting.
The Internal Affairs Directorate of the Issyk-Kul region confirmed the fact of the traffic accident. According to available information, the accident occurred on the night of March 25, 2026, at 11:50 PM.
A Honda Fit, driven by a 31-year-old resident of Karakol, A.U.T., struck two pedestrians who were crossing the road at a crosswalk. As a result of the collision, 35-year-old S.M.C. and her 7-year-old daughter A.A.S. were injured.
The victims were immediately taken to the regional hospital in Karakol for medical assistance.
