Although BYD remained the largest supplier of electric vehicles in the world, its position is weakening. In the first quarter of this year, the company's deliveries fell by 25.5%, totaling 310,389 units, which is significantly lower than Tesla's figures, which, despite a decline, managed to sell 358,023 electric vehicles, 6% more year-on-year. Thus, it can be said that Tesla is outpacing BYD even in the fully electric vehicle segment.

Experts attribute BYD's difficulties to its high dependence on the Chinese market, which is facing oversaturation and fierce competition. In contrast, Tesla demonstrates more stable results due to geographical diversification. Both manufacturers are actively competing for leadership in the global electric vehicle market. In mid-2023, BYD surpassed Tesla for the first time in the number of battery electric vehicles sold, and since the end of 2024, the company has held the position of the largest player in this market. However, judging by the latest data, this situation may change.

The record shows that Tesla has once again surpassed BYD in electric vehicle deliveries, first appearing in K-News.
