At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Bekmurza Ergeshov, representing district No. 6, raised the issue of the necessity of constructing a new building for the Osh Interregional Oncology Center. Currently, the institution is located in a kindergarten and lacks modern medical equipment.

He noted that approximately 6,400 new cases of cancer are recorded in the country each year, of which about 2,000 cases are registered in the south. The building where the oncology service is currently located was declared emergency in 2010, after which the medical institution was forced to move to the kindergarten. “The problem with the premises has remained unresolved since then,” the deputy added, pointing to the outdated material and technical base.

Ergeshov also reported that the land for the new oncology center has already been allocated and called for the acceleration of its construction process.

In addition, the deputy mentioned that the infectious diseases hospital of the Osh Clinical Hospital, designed for 275 beds, also needs updating, as patients are forced to be accommodated in the corridors during the season. He proposed to build a new infectious diseases hospital with 500 beds.
