In Kyrgyzstan, over 84 thousand children were screened for congenital diseases in 2025

In Kyrgyzstan, 84,216 newborns were screened for congenital diseases in 2025. According to the Ministry of Health, the screening results showed the following:

- 10 cases of congenital hypothyroidism identified among the 84,216 screenings conducted,

- 2 cases of adrenal genital syndrome out of 60,753 examined,

- 3 children with phenylketonuria out of 49,713 screenings.

In total, 194,682 tests were performed.

It is important to note that early diagnosis contributes to the timely initiation of treatment and helps maintain the health of the child from the very first days of life.

In addition, work continues in the country to improve the neonatal screening system, updating protocols and digitizing processes.
