The Minister of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, Damir Osmonov, visited the village of Novopokrovka, located in the Issyk-Ata district of the Chui region, on March 22, 2026, as part of his working trip. This was reported by the press service of the ministry.
During the visit, the minister familiarized himself with the process of major repairs to the building, which was previously used as a hospital. After the repairs are completed, it is planned to open a regional maternity hospital with 100 beds.
According to Almaz Askarov, the health coordinator for the Chui region, funds from the stabilization fund were allocated for the major repairs. The work is expected to be completed by November of this year.
It should be noted that currently, the Chui regional maternity hospital is located in a building that was previously used as a kindergarten. This creates certain limitations for organizing full-fledged specialized medical care.
The implementation of this project will create modern conditions that meet all the requirements for providing medical assistance to pregnant women and mothers, which in turn will improve the accessibility and quality of services in the field of maternal and child health in the Chui region.
The minister also emphasized the need for timely completion of the repair work and instructed to ensure control over their quality execution.
