The tragedy occurred in one of the kindergartens in Jerusalem, where two children died and about 55 sustained various injuries as a result of suspected carbon monoxide poisoning, according to The Jerusalem Post.

Emergency response services that arrived at the scene found no hazardous substances; however, investigators are considering the possibility that the poisoning could have been caused by gas emitted from heating equipment.

More than 25 children were hospitalized at the "Shaare Zedek" medical center, where they are receiving necessary medical assistance. Additionally, social workers and support teams are assisting the families of the affected children, as specified by the hospital.

Furthermore, according to The Jerusalem Post citing the Israeli Ministry of Education, the kindergarten where the tragedy occurred is private and was operating in an apartment in the Romema neighborhood, and it was doing so without a license.
